By Air: The nearest airport, Jubbarhatti, is 23 kilometers distant and is fairly accessible for travelers traveling to Kinnaur Valley.
By car: Road travel is the most convenient way to get to Kinnaur. A well-developed road network connects it to important adjacent cities such as Delhi, Shimla, and Chandigarh.
BEST TIME TO VISIT:
Summer months (April through June):
Summer is said to be the best time to visit Kinnaur. The weather is lovely and moderate, making touring and admiring Kinnaur's beauty easier. However, due to the high volume of travelers, vacations must be scheduled and hotels reserved in advance to avoid disappointment.
Monsoon season (July-September):
Kinnaur, like other mountainous places, receives a significant quantity of rainfall during the monsoon season. Rainstorms are frequently accompanied by abrupt cloudbursts and landslides, which can delay transport and endanger tourists.
Winter season (October to March):
Kinnaur's winters are quite severe. Temperatures drop below freezing due to the altitude. The region also gets a lot of snow. Commuting or sightseeing is hard, and one cannot appreciate Kinnaur's true splendor.
